What is a Stochastic Oscillator?

Stochastic Oscillator was developed by George Lane in the 1950s. It is a momentum indicator that compares a particular closing price to a price range over a specific period.

The basic idea of the Stochastic is: In a bullish trend, price closes near the high of the candle, and in a bearish trend, it closes near the low. When this pattern changes, a reversal signal is generated.
